The Sacrifice

The Sacrifice

Here's one interpretation.

Some believe that sacrifice means to make something sacred. The sacrifice is an offering of gratitude from the heart. It is a feast of love prepared for the Spirit. People sometimes sacrificed blood to the gods in ancient times. In the Bible, in the story of Cain and Abel, God preferred a sacrifice of lamb over vegetables. In South America however, Quetzalcoatl preferred singing and prayers over blood. One can see that different cultures valued different types of sacrifices.

When this card appears, here are a few actions you might consider.

The Sacrifice calls you to offer up to Spirit that which you most value or hold dear to you. Your offer will be made holy. Your reward shall be multiplied in relation to your sacrifice. You will ascend to the altar where you prayed and sit at the Divine feast. You will be a welcome guest at the Divine banquet. Remember to be grateful for the generosity Life has shown you. And that your genuine Love is the greatest offering.

What is the one object or relationship that you feel you cannot live without? It is time to surrender it to Spirit. This will help destiny unfold. Do not cling to the past. Do not let the weight of your sacrifice sadden or consume you.
